Transportation
Getting to Jungle Creek
Jungle Creek offers a private shuttle service that can pick you up from, or drop you off at, San José airport or your hotel. Transportation can also be arranged from any area of Costa Rica. The price is typically $160 one way for up to 4 people; larger groups may cost more. The shuttle can be arranged for any time, day or night.
If you’d rather fly to Quepos from San José, you can book domestic flights on Sansa Air, Skyway, or Aerobell. Flights cost around $100 each way, and it’s the quickest way to Manuel Antonio: only 20 minutes from San José. Other options include the local bus, which drops off in the town of Quepos (about $10 per person), or Interbus (semi-private), which drops off at some of the bigger hotels (Hotel Gaia is the closest to us). These options run only during daytime hours.
Driving from Juan Santamaría Airport, San José
About 2.5 to 3 hours without stops.
Exit the main terminal and turn right. Very shortly you’ll come to an on-ramp; take it to the right (Alajuela, Hwy 1) and merge onto the highway.

The overhead sign will say “San Ramón” (Hwy 1). Stay left.

Stay on this highway for just under 8 km, until a sign on the right says “Radial El Coyol.” Take the off-ramp to the right, up and over the highway you just left.

At the roundabout, take the first exit to the right, marked “Turrucares/Coyol.” Continue about 4 km.

You’ll see huge red-and-white power poles beside the road.

At the next roundabout, take the first exit, marked “Atenas/Orotina.” You’re now on Hwy 27.

Stay on Hwy 27 for 30 to 40 minutes, through two toll booths. Take the first right after the last toll booth onto Hwy 34 and follow the signs to Jacó (about an hour). You’ll pass the Tárcoles River, where you can stop to see the resident crocodiles, and Carara Park. At Jacó, stay on the main road (don’t turn into the village) and continue straight to Parrita, the last major town before Quepos.
Approaching Quepos, the paved road veers right into town. After about 2 km you’ll cross a bridge and enter Quepos. Keep driving straight past Café Milagro, Super Pura Vida, and other businesses (4 short blocks), then turn left at the big white sign reading “7 km Manuel Antonio National Park.”
Continue straight for 3 long blocks. At the only stop sign, with a large soccer field on your left and Iguana Tours on your right, turn right and head up the hill toward Manuel Antonio (about 2.5 km).
Heading up the hill, you’ll pass Mono Azul on your right, Club Serena on your left, and the Amigos del Río rafting building on your left.

Next you’ll see a sign for Ronny’s Place. Look for our Jungle Creek sign beside it on the right-hand side of the road.

About 100 meters around the bend, on the left, is the entrance to Valle Pura Vida.

Head down the paved road. After about a block you’ll come to a “V” marked by two cement parrots; take the right side, which turns to gravel.

The first yellow building on your left is Jungle Creek. Guest parking is out front.
